This is a beautiful, small, luxury hotel on a working farm in the countryside near Salta, Argentina. Each room is named after a crop (corn, wheat, etc.) and is... read more decorated somewhat thematically. The rooms are lovely and our king bed was super comfortable. Having two sinks was a plus. There is a delightful swimming pool.
We had a wonderful dinner at Las Margaritas' restaurant, in fact one of the best meals we had in Argentina. I believe Daniela, the owner/manager, studied cooking in Paris. Daniela is really lovely, and very welcoming. In the morning before we left, she gave us a tour of the farm which has been in her family for five generations. The members of the staff were all most accommodating. Our only regret is that we didn't plan to stay longer. There are nice walks near the hotel and possibilities for bird watching and horse back riding. Everywhere we stayed in Argentina during our three week trip was very nice and luxurious, but this was the highlight and the only place I am writing about. I hope in this time of worldwide medical catastrophe that the hotel at Finca Las Margaritas will survive and eventually prosper. More

Everybody is trying hard to make your stay nice. I think that explaines the high ratings: it feels like betrayal not to do so.
But I cannot ignore the... read more fact that this stay has been by far the least comfortable so far in Argentinia. The location is poor. Not the nice views and secluded area which you can find elsewhere: you are on a farm. With all the noises of a farm with it: tractors running around, mowing of grass, etc. During the night there is the loud noise of crickets, so it certainly isn't quite in this place.
The room is nice, but is missing details to make it comfortable. There is no fridge, no garbagebin, and there isn't enough lighting. The shower is poor as well.
I had a tasty lunch. There wasn't wine by the glass available, so I ordered one of the three half bottles on the menu. They all weren't available. So I order a whole bottle instead. The wine was only served ten minutes after the food...
Breakfast was poor. No buffet or something, because I was the only guest. Day old bread with cheese or ham, a small glass of orange juice and filtercoffee was served, and that was it. Fresh bread is served nowhere in Argentina for breakfast, so I survived on cruesli so far. Here that wasn't an option. There wasn't a toaster either to make the old bread more acceptable. I asked for fruit or yoghurt, to receive a basket with overdue fruits...
No one, except for Natalia, spoke a word English. Natalia was running errands in Salta, so she wasn't much arround, which made communication tough.
All toghether it isn't a bad place to stay at all, but it is a bit overrated though.
